Michael Waldman, President of the Brennan Center, will give us the latest on the threats to a free and fair election, from obstruction to purged rolls to pressure on the people who count the ballots, and possible interference during voting and on January 3. About Our Speaker
Michael Waldman is president and CEO of the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law, a leading nonpartisan institute focused on democracy, voting rights, and constitutional law. A constitutional lawyer, author, and expert on the presidency and American democracy, he has led the Brennan Center since 2005 and served on the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States in 2021.
Previously, Waldman served in the Clinton White House, including as director of speechwriting from 1995 to 1999. He is the author of several books on American democracy and constitutional law, including The Supermajority: How the Supreme Court Divided America, The Fight to Vote, and The Second Amendment: A Biography. He is a graduate of Columbia College and NYU School of Law.
Jefrey Pollock is the founding Partner and President of Global Strategy Group (GSG) and a pollster for the Biden re-election campaign. Twice named “Pollster of the Year” by the American Association of Political Consultants, he has worked with governors, senators, and members of Congress, including Governor Kathy Hochul, Governor JB Pritzker, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator Joe Manchin, and many others.
Pollock’s clients include national organizations like the DCCC, DSCC, EMILY’s List, and Senate Majority PAC. He has also conducted research and branding for major entities such as Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Gates Foundation, and Everytown for Gun Safety. His work has earned recognition from The New York Times as one of the country’s leading pollsters.
