About Our Speaker

Congresswoman Katherine Clark represents Massachusetts’s 5th Congressional District and currently serves as the Democratic Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives—the second-highest-ranking Democrat in the chamber. First elected to Congress in 2013, Clark has been a leading voice on issues including child care access, gun safety, and protecting reproductive rights. She serves on the House Appropriations Committee and previously held leadership roles as Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus and Assistant Speaker. Throughout her tenure, Clark has championed legislation to expand affordable child care, combat online harassment, and support working families. A graduate of St. Lawrence University, Cornell Law School, and Harvard Kennedy School, she resides in Revere, Massachusetts, with her husband, Rodney, and has three grown sons.
